Running Essential Errands During the Pandemic

The public has been advised to practice social distancing and self-imposed quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we inevitably go out to run essential errands during this time. The CDC has posted the following tips for when running essential errands:

Do transactions online when possible
Some errands, such as banking, talking to your doctor, and doing groceries, can be done online and through deliveries.

  • Plan to do your errands at times with fewer people.

Try to time your tasks to early morning or late at night when there are fewer people.

  • Disinfect

Use disinfecting wipes or 70% alcohol sprays to disinfect shopping carts, gasoline pumps, etc.

  • Use touchless payment if possible.

If not, make sure to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after paying.

  • Limit in-person visits to the pharmacy.

Plan to order and pick up all your medical supplies at the same time. You can also get a larger supply so you can visit less often.

Some pharmacies such as Horsham Pharmacy also provide free prescriptions delivery in Pennsylvania so you don’t have to get out and refill your medication.
